Year of manufacture - 1952

Engine - Rolls-Royce B60

Length - 22'

Width - 7'

Height - 9' 10"

Purchased by the States of Jersey Fire Service in 1952, this Dennis F8 served until 1979 when it was sold, it had deteriorated whilst in storage in the UK, until the previous owner acquired it and started a major restoration, rebuilding the entire rear end and the roof section and painting the main body. I purchased it in August 2005 and now the appliance has returned to Jersey I will continue the restoration, starting with an overhaul of the Rolls-Royce engine and finishing off the exterior paintwork prior to refitting all the trim and the windscreens. Later in the year restoration of the water pump and the Merryweather Wheeled Escape Ladder will commence. The interior of the Dennis has now been repainted along with painting the interior of the vehicle cab and lockers. I am currently seeking all the assorted equipment to fill the lockers. The Dennis is now running, but the radiator need a replacement top tank (if anyone knows where I can get one, please email me) and should hopefully be back on the road later in 2012. I still need to locate the original registration number so if anybody knows who has J13983 please get them to contact me.
The third photograph shows the Dennis on the back of a recovery truck after its return to Jersey after 26 years.
This appliance is commemorated on the Jersey Fire Service 41p stamp
