This 8 gauge Muzzle Loading Percussion Shotgun manufactured by Deane and Company of London was awarded as the second prize in a shooting competition to a member of the Royal Jersey Militia.
The inscription on the silver plaque reads :- 6 / 1851 / 2nd Prize / I.P.C.W./ 4th (Town) Regiment / Royal Jersey Militia.
